Oct. 2026 - Faith in the Field

There's something about being out on the land that brings me closer to God.
Maybe it's the quiet of the morning before the world gets moving. Maybe it's watching the sun rise over the fields or seeing something grow from a seed no bigger than the tip of your finger.
Whatever it is, I find myself talking to the Lord a whole lot when I'm out here.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." — Psalm 19:1 (KJV)
The more I learn about farming, the more amazed I become by the incredible design of God's creation.
Everything has a purpose. The soil, the insects, the plants, the animals, even the microorganisms we can't see. They all work together in ways we're still learning to understand.
And isn't that something?
God created an entire world of living things that depend on one another. When we take the time to understand those relationships and work with them instead of against them, we begin to see just how beautifully His creation was designed.
Farming has also taught me a thing or two about patience and faith.
I can prepare the soil, plant the seeds, and give those plants everything I know they need. But I can't make them grow. That's a reminder that no matter how hard we work, there are things only God can do.
"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." — 1 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV)
That verse has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
We're called to be good stewards of what God has given us. To work faithfully, care for His creation, and trust Him with the outcome.
I believe that's true in farming, and I believe it's true in life.
My hope is that this farm becomes a place where people can slow down, reconnect with the land, and recognize the goodness of God in the world around them.
Because sometimes the greatest lessons in faith don't come from a church pew.
Sometimes they come from a handful of soil, a seed breaking through the ground, or a quiet morning in the field.
"The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." — Psalm 24:1 (KJV)
God bless,
